Humboldt County Fungi Fest – September 21, 2024

Humboldt County Fungi Fest was our first event back since the grand opening of Culture Shrooms Humboldt, and it couldn’t have been a better return. Presented by Myceliumatters, the day was packed with energy, education, and the kind of community vibes that make Humboldt so special. Poppa Cap Snack Shack made its much-anticipated second debut, serving up their mouthwatering burgers, fries, and more—fueling festival-goers for a full day of mushroom magic.

The lineup of speakers and workshops kept the crowd engaged from start to finish, covering everything from cultivation basics to deep dives into foraging, wild mushroom cloning, and even the spiritual side of fungi. Vendors like Twisted Tree Nursery, Humboldt Healing Harvest, Shroom Works, Ranga Gorilla, and more filled the space with incredible products and knowledge.

Outside, the air was alive with music from David Poplin’s band, setting the perfect backdrop for an already vibrant day. And just beyond the doors, the famous Arcata “All Species Parade” and county fair added a whole extra layer of fun—people dressed as animals, mythical creatures, and colorful beings stopping by to join the mushroom celebration.

The weekend was made even more memorable by team hikes and staying together as a crew. It was one of those events that reminded us why we do what we do—community, connection, and of course, fungi.
