Toys 4 Tots Drive December 15 2023 Long Beach CA

Some events just feel good from start to finish and this one was all about giving back

On December 15th we gathered at Culture Shrooms in Long Beach with our friends from Myceliumatters for a special holiday Toys 4 Tots drive. It was our way of closing out the year with gratitude while doing something meaningful for the community and it turned into one of those days where the spirit of giving was everywhere you looked

We gave away a ton of AlpacaSoil as a thank you to the community and in celebration of what we’ve built with Culture Shrooms through our AlpacaSoil collaboration. The whole place smelled like mushrooms and hot cocoa thanks to the mushroom hot chocolate being served up. There were mushroom grow kits, mushroom-themed gifts, and plenty of smiles as people came through to donate and connect

The donations from this toy drive had an extra special destination. Instead of staying local, they were sent to the Uganda Mushroom Farm, helping to support a community halfway across the world that’s growing mushrooms and building opportunities. It was a beautiful reminder that the myco community really is global and that the impact of a small event in Long Beach can ripple far beyond our own neighborhoods

There was laughter, gratitude, and that holiday feeling of togetherness. We left feeling proud of what we’d accomplished in 2023 and inspired to keep finding ways to give back in the year ahead
