Culture Shrooms Humboldt Launch Party April 13, 2024 Arcata, CA

Some events mark a milestone in business, others in community and this one did both.

On April 13th, 2024, we packed our bags for Humboldt County to celebrate something huge: the soft launch of Culture Shrooms’ second location in Arcata, California. This wasn’t just any opening it was the launch of a major collaboration between some serious heavy hitters in the mushroom space, including David Poplin, Hearthstone, and others who came together to support Omar in making this dream a reality.

We had never been to Humboldt before, and the moment we arrived we were in awe. Towering redwoods, misty air, and a deep-rooted counterculture history made it feel like stepping into a magical forest fairytale. The town of Arcata welcomed us with its charm, and it quickly became clear this was going to be more than just another vending trip.

The launch party was stacked with an incredible lineup of sponsors and vendors — Myceliumatters, Shroom Works, Humboldt Mycology, Stem + Cap, Shroomeats, MycroBoost, and more. The shop buzzed with excitement, live music from David Poplin’s band filled the air with groovy rock covers, and giveaways kept the crowd energized. We had a Ribbon cutting ceremony with the cities chamber of commerce, the whole 9.

Outside the shop, the celebration continued in the form of community bonding. A few of us rented an Airbnb together, and between the late-night laughs, the shared meals, and the hikes to breathtaking spots like Fern Canyon, we left with friendships that felt like family.

By the end of the weekend, we weren’t just celebrating the opening of a store, we were celebrating the start of a new chapter. Arcata became our Humboldt home base, and this event was proof of what can happen when passion, community, and a shared vision all come together under one roof.
