Back to Long Beach for another round of Fungi Fest and this one felt like a family reunion

Hosted at Culture Shrooms and presented by Mycelium Matters, the space was buzzing from the moment we walked in. Mushroom-based food and drinks were flowing, and the smell alone made you want to try everything. The vendor tables were lined with friendly faces both familiar and new. Our little local mushroom crew keeps growing stronger every time we gather like this

The day’s workshops were a perfect mix of practical and eye-opening. Jonathan Garner from The Meddling Mushroom taught a hands-on cultivation class, breaking things down in a way that even total beginners could feel confident about. Then Ryan Munevar dove into psilocybin legality, unpacking the details and challenges of the movement in a way that kept everyone locked in and asking questions

We brought Birdie with us for this one and she soaked up all the attention. Between greeting people at the booth and getting pets from just about everyone, she might have been the most popular guest there

I also got the chance to grab the mic for a bit and share who Twisted Tree Nursery is and what we’re about. Standing in front of a room full of people who genuinely care about the same things we do felt special. It reminded me why we keep showing up to these events

By the end of the day the sun was dipping low, the music was still going, and we were surrounded by friends old and new. It was one of those days where you leave knowing the community is stronger than ever and excited for whatever comes next
