Fungi Fest July 2 2022

We didn’t know it yet but this would become one of the cornerstones of everything we’d build together in the years to come

Fungi Fest happened on July 2nd 2022 at the Culture Shrooms HQ in Long Beach. It was low-key but full of heart. The kind of day where everyone was there with intention. People filtered in throughout the afternoon, curious and open to whatever the mushroom world had to offer

The vendor lineup felt like a glimpse into the future of this space. There were functional mushroom drinks, handmade tinctures, mushroom-themed art, and a few creative surprises. Food and drinks were all mushroom-inspired. Some earthy and grounding, others more experimental. It was small but it felt special

Myco Alchemy had a small setup where they did a walkthrough of their Mushroom Grow Kit using their Zen Blend. It wasn’t crowded but that’s what made it nice. Folks could take their time, ask questions, and get a feel for how the process worked without any pressure

Shroomworks was there too. The Dunn brothers—Shawn and Justin—brought their passion for mushrooms straight from their foraging days into a clean, thoughtful product line. They’re all about doing things the right way, using real ingredients from trusted sources, and keeping everything organic. Their booth had this grounded energy that drew people in naturally

Myceliumatters really set the vibe for the whole thing as the presenter alongside Culture Shrooms. As a newly launched group out of LA, they were already making waves. Their focus on fungi as a bridge between education, wellness, and environmental healing came through in how they moved through the space. From hands-on teaching moments to sparking conversations between total strangers, they helped bring the whole thing to life

As the day started to wind down, the lights dimmed and everyone gathered for a closing sound bath. I wish I could remember who led it but what I do remember is how quiet the room got. It wrapped up the day in a way that felt complete. Everyone just… settled. Like the spores had done their job

Fungi Fest was never meant to be flashy. It was meant to connect. And that’s exactly what it did.
