Culture Corner x Fungi Fest September 17 2022
By the time this one came around it was clear the community was growing. What started as small gatherings in Long Beach had started to ripple outward. This time we found ourselves outdoors at Rush Park in Rossmoor CA for the biggest Fungi Fest of the year
Culture Corner x Fungi Fest was hosted by Culture Shrooms and Myceliumatters once again and this time it felt like a true health and wellness festival. Bigger space, more vendors, and a stacked speaker lineup that brought real education into the mix
There were two ticket tiers GA and VIP. Both came with a vendor and sticker goodie bag but VIP gave front row access to all the talks and walkthroughs in the Culture Corner auditorium plus an upgraded swag bag full of featured vendor products
The speaker lineup was the real heart of this event. Bat Vardeh opened things up with a guide to foraging wild mushrooms in Southern California. Larissa Shen shared her research on mycoremediation and how fungi are being used to heal the environment. Myco Alchemy gave another grow kit walkthrough and intro to cultivation that had new growers taking notes. The Kind Teacher broke down microdosing and stacking in a way that was both approachable and informed. And Dylan Simcik returned with a mushroom synthesizer demo and music walkthrough that completely shifted the mood of the space
The vendors were a mix of returning favorites and new faces and everyone brought something that made people stop and engage
Twisted Tree Nursery was there holding it down alongside Magic Amor and her ever-whimsical setup. Ohms Collective brought a beautiful blend of wellness and ritual products. Supermush came through with their colorful and energetic vibe. El Hongo and The Kind Teacher both represented plant medicine in totally unique ways. Yerba Cha added a refreshing herbal energy to the lineup. 920 Maps and Good Pharma brought tools for inner exploration and daily grounding. Smallhold kept pushing their mission to make mushroom people out of everyone. Stem and Cap showed off Culture Shrooms’ functional side. Shroomworks and Mushroom Alchemy rounded it all out with real-deal products rooted in care and intention
The whole day felt like a celebration of how far the space had come in such a short time. We weren’t crammed into a building anymore. We were outside. In the sun. Building something open and alive
Culture Corner x Fungi Fest showed us just how much this world was expanding. And we were all growing with it
